A Survey on the Patient Who Admitted in Ward Through the Emergency Room

Abstract
|
|
|
This treaties is based on the research which deals with 148 patients admitted through emergency department and spent one night in their own wards in 3 hospitals of Taegue city from August 7 to September 4, 1´96.
The result of this study is following that ;
1. Demographic-sociological characteristics showed man(54.7 %), age 20-29(25.7 %), living in Taegu(77.7 %), married(66.9 %), graduate from high school(45.3 %), don´t having job(30.4 %) and office man(14.2 %), atheist(42.6 %), and middle economic state(62.2 %) are higher number than others.
2. Characteristics related emergency department showed IM(33.8 %), Thesday(16.9 %), visited from afternoon to 3 : 59 PM(28.4 %), stayed for 2 hour to 5 hour 59 minutes 39.2 %, stat viewing of doctor(50.7 %), patient´s no anxiety(44.6 %) and endurable pain(52.7 %) are higher number than others.
The following suggestions are made based on the above results
1. Replication of the research is needed to confirm the current situation of patients who admitted through emergency department in university hospitals only.
2. Hospital´s administers should make an effort to adding nursing man power during
12 : 00 ?4 : 00 PM and to decrease patient´s staying home in emergency department.
